Marco Evaristti is a danish artist whom created a piece called 'Helena', the blenders all holding one goldfish. The blenders were plugged in and ready to use, giving the viewer to decide the fate of the fish. it positions the human as the one with the power, having the option to kill or not. After one viewer did press the blending button, Evaristti was charged and fined for animal cruelty. After his appeal the court decided the act wasn't animal cruelty as they fish were in no way harmed before the button was pressed, and died instantly. Evaristti did in no way encourage the viewer to press the button, it was completely left to human instinct and curiosity, although we knew what would happen when the button was pressed. the work has been listed under 'shock art,' playing with the ideas of right and wrong, human and inhumane.
