THE ENCLAVE

I went to visit the Richard Mosse THE ENCLAVE exhibition within the bottom floor of a car park in soho. the first rom was filled with beautifully vibrant photographs from when the artists travelled round Congo. The second room was host to 8 screens, all showing footage of Congo contrasting the bright pink lushes' natural environment with the violent images of dieting and dead soldiers.
This moving exhibition treads into both artistic skill and documentary. I think the colours are so powerful and brilliant, and has made me want to extend the use of colour into my practice. The spilt screen that i tried to achieve in my last assessment proved difficult, but i would love to try and fill a room with 4 projections having a performance or installation int he middle, or have the screens inside the inastllation as smaller projections. the vibrance and engagement of the films, as well as the silence and atmosphere created whilst watching them is overwhelmingly powerful.
