the holes of the plastic chair and stools have been patched up. i have to leave them for an hour then apply more plastic, then wait another 24 hours. hopefully this will cover the small hole, allowing the water to stay inside the cylinder and the air inside the rest of the chair. I will test this tomorrow

MAKING OF A MONSTER
the fish is coming along nicely, after finishing the eyes, deciding they looked better loosely sewn and stuffed, making the whites of the eyes bugger then if i made them into small balls and the sewn them. this makes the fish look more lifeless rather then comical i think. the mouth is open and has the lips attached, which are a lot heavier then they look. the whole of the inside is hollow, you could clime inside. this gives the skin a folding look, which i think makes it look like it was full and has now been hollowed out. the fins i want to add i think it will give it a little something for the sides and the tail, which has been deliberately twisted as i want it to hang in a certain way over the chairs.
NEW CONTEMPORARIES
visited the New Contemporaries exhibition at the ICA. mostly video work that caught my interest, there was some sculptures that i found aseptically interesting yet would have like to have a bit of writing next to it to understand the piece a little more throughly.
EMPTY FELT
I have progressed with the completion of the fish. The lifelessness and deflated look has come across just as i wanted it to.
SPRING CLEAN
couldn't sleep so i decided to clean out the fish. After a week they are looking settled, apart from the smaller of the fish is being bittern and has lost part of his tail. i will go buy a separator later.

I LOVE FLEXIBLE VINYL ADHESIVE
problem hopefully solved. i cut the top of the part i wanted to fill with water and found the hole. as its only small, i decided this could probably be taped up or something, so found online a very strong clue purposely for PVC plastic and inflatables, helps patch holes and stops air getting out whilst also being water resistant (perfect). i am going to use the plastic i cut out of the top to stick over the hole in the middle of the central cylinder hopefully stoping air and water through into the main compartment which then can be fully blown up with no interruptions. in theory this should work. in theory. the top image is the stool without the top, after it has been cut out, showing the centre, and the second image is the cylinder with water filled until it reaches the hole, i didn't want water passing through into the main compartment. third image is side view of the water inside the centre bit, works well with a light behind it, so i might play on this in the exhibition. the fourth is the glue i just brought of ebay.
I HATE SQUARE ONE
I came across an annoying problem to my otherwise faultless plan. there is a small but very irritating hole on the middle section of the part of the stools i wanted to fill with water. I will have to either find an alternative option, such as fill the entire thing with water or attempt to patch this up somehow.
